My Thoughts E3 2012: Day Two – Part 1
Day Two shall be split
into two parts due to various reasons. So part one will just be about the
Nintendo Conference and part two will be the rest of the day from IGN.
Hope you enjoy!
Nintendo Conference
I thought that the beginning of the conference was really good as it was engaging, interesting and funny. By watching all of it made me wants to know more by the second. Okay, onto the juicy stuff!
Pikmin 3 – Looks like a cute strategy game. Never played the other games so I didn’t really understand what was going (backstory), so I can’t really comment on that but it still looks good.
Miiverse - Nintendo’s version of PlayStation Home just with a lot features from Home which is missing.
New Super Mario Bros. U – Never played a Mario game before so it didn’t really get my attention.
Batman: Arkham City Armoured Edition – The game looked awesome. I thought the use of Wii U in this game was used very well e.g. Remote control Batarangs using the Gamepad’s motion controls. This has added another reason why my opinion should be stronger about getting the Wii U.
Scribblenauts Unlimited – Looks like fun. Hmmm… I wonder if you can imagine a… a cat with a pop tart body flying through space farting out a rainbow???
Then a whole lot of third party games came along including: Darksiders II, Mass Effect 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Trine 2: Directors Cut, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge and Aliens Colonial Marines.
One thing I must say though if you didn’t see the whole conference you must see this part because you shall laugh your head off. I won’t ruin it for you just watch it.
Wii Fit U – Doesn’t
interest me but it looked good.
Sing – ‘Mamma mia, here I
go again, My my, how can I resist you?’ Wait one minute… are we talking about
the game?? You can definitely guess I wasn’t interested.
The conference then went
onto the 3DS.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 – Coins
everywhere, gold enemies, gold Mario. This game just made me want it to be real
life.
Paper Mario: Sticker Star –
The game looked okay I guess.
Luigi’s Mansion 2 – Same
as the one above.
Back to the Wii U again.
Lego City Undercover – The
game looked awesome. All it needs to do now is to make it online and eventually
come to other consoles. Also, I loved the cheeky Mario end part it made me
giggle.
ZombiU – I absolutely hate
the name but the use of the Gamepad I thought worked really well while playing.
However, it’s nothing special in my eyes.
Nintendoland (There will
be 12 minigames. Legend of Zelda Battle Quest, Animal Crossing Sweet Day,
Donkey Kong’s Crash Course and Luigi’s Ghost Mansion were announced) – This game
looked interesting as it looks like the game will probably get positive feedback
afterwards.
Great conference, in my
eyes it was as good as the Sony conference but it didn’t beat the Microsoft
conference. So I think that this year Microsoft
takes my imaginary trophy. YAY!!

My Thoughts E3 2012: Day One
I thought that Day One of E3 went off with an awesome start. Great games were shown, new software was explained and good looking girl gamers were there (and yes I’m talking about you Justine Ezarik!!). Anyways, here is what I thought about Day One.
Microsoft Conference
Halo 4 – I thought that it looked really good and the graphics were amazing, however I didn’t take a lot of interest as I don’t have an Xbox and because of this (well it’s quite obvious really) I won’t be able to play it.
Gears of War Judgment – The CG trailer looked great, unfortunately didn’t show any gameplay which didn’t really help me because of the Xbox reason again. On the other hand I wanted to know more as the intense music was playing at the end.
Resident Evil 6 – Never really played a Resident Evil game before as I’m not really into the horror genre but this actually looked really good.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist – At first wasn’t too sure what to expect from it yet it pulled of really well and I wanted the game to carry on. Gameplay looked breath-taking and I really liked how Kinetic was used during gameplay to get a different feel into it.
Smart Glass – Looked pretty cool, again like I said before it helps to get a different feel into it.
Forza Horizon – To me it just looked like a better version on Test Drive Unlimited.
South Park: The Stick of Truth – It looked funny and I want to know how it all goes in the end.
Tomb Raider – Graphics looked good however I didn’t think gameplay impressed me much especially when she was going down the waterfall (HOW DID THE SHOTGUN AUTOMATICALLY GET IN HER HAND SO QUICK???).
Ascend: New Gods – Looked okay by first glance, nothing really special was shown. The quick footage of the boss battle looked like something from God of War.
LocoCycle – Need more to talk about it.
Matter – I don’t know why but it looks like Portal in some aspects.
Dance Central 3 – When did this all of a sudden turn into a concert???
Nike+ - Actually looks very engaging for anyone to get fit.
Black Ops 2 – I do play Call of Duty but I’m not really a fan. By looking at the gameplay they did look like there were some improvements from my eyes. I did like how you could decide what you would rather do e.g. sniper or rappel. I do like games where you have choice in them so this looks like a game which might interest me of getting in the future.
EA Conference
Dead Space 3 – Like I said before not really into the horror scene but the co-op element looked really good.
SimCity Social – It looks okay for a Facebook game, and that’s all I have to say about it.
SimCity – An outstanding looking game which will probably been in my collection of games.
Battlefield 3 Premium – A great price for a good amount of content to be played with.
SWTOR – Can’t really say much about the game but it’s on my wish list.
Medal of Honour Warfighter – Probably the best looking FPS I have seen yet. I want to play it right now.
Various EA Sports titles – All I can say is they are always improving.
UFC Teams Up With EA! – I don’t know why but I never wanted this to happen in my life time. It was fine being made by THQ.
Need for Speed Most Wanted – The game looked okay but to be honest Hot Pursuit is still the best in my eyes.
Crysis 3 – Great looking game I may get it after a few months after release.
Ubisoft Conference
Before I talk about any games I would like to say, I was very surprised to see Tobuscus and he was pretty funny which made the show more engaging. Okay randomness over.
Just Dance 4 - When did this all of a sudden turn into a concert (again)?!?!?
Far Cry 3 – Gameplay looked amazing, I’m looking forward to getting it. The game did look like it was insanity with Tattoos! Fire! Tigers! Explosions! Knifes! Pole-dancing! Blood! Dreams! Did I miss anything??
Splinter Cell: Blacklist – I forgot to say this before, when Sam Fisher put on a different vision it reminded me of Ghost Recon Future Solider.
Avengers: Battle for Earth – A great CG trailer, hopefully the game does as well as the trailer.
Rayman Legends – An interesting look at Rayman by using the Wii U.
Zombi U – Has such a cheesy name I bet anyone could think of that name on the top of their heads. Apart from the name we didn’t see much gameplay or story so there’s not much more to say.
Assassin's Creed 3 – AWSOME!!
Shootmania – What was all this about?? The competition was completely pointless, we didn’t really see any story to it and at the moment it’s a waste of time. I need to see more for me to change my mind.
Watch Dogs – I was very impressed with this game as I wanted to know more by every second. Hopefully theirs some free roaming ability in the game because if it is in the game I never have to worry about going through a red light again.
Sony Conference
Beyond – It’s ‘Beyond’ my good expectations. Since Heavy Rain was such a brilliant game I don’t think we would in for disappointment.
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale – Looks like it could be a great game all we need now is the rest of the characters who will be in the game.
Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation – It shall be interesting to see what comes of this new direction of Assassin's Creed.
Assassin's Creed 3 – I was at the edge of my seat during the battle on the sea. Please stop making want this game more!
Far Cry 3 – I’m not too sure of what to expect from the co-op. I guess it could work if made properly.
Wonderbook – A great game idea but I just think it dragged on a bit. It just really annoyed me how the people who were playing the game didn’t have much practice doing it which meant more time was wasted, but what really annoyed me was when the guy who was presenting it had the cheek to say, ‘well it is live..’ I don’t know why but that really got me mad. The time presenting and showing how to do spells we could have been shown better games coming out in the future.
God of War: Ascension – To be honest in my eyes it just looks the same the only difference is probably the added multiplayer which then again I’m not sure it will work.
Last of Us – It literally blew me away as it was a great looking game. A co-op feature would work well if they decided to do so but Naughty Dog knows what they doing.
A quick conclusion to the Sony conference as I think it’s needed. I was slightly annoyed afterwards because they could have shown much more things for the future. However we did see a good few games so I’m not fully angry.
Overall Day One was great and I’m looking forward to the next couple of days!!!
